Terms of Service

Effective October 11, 2026 · Version 2026-10-v1

These terms apply when you use Abound — whether you're creating a book, paying for one, or contributing to someone else's.

Abound is operated by Abound Gifting Co. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use Abound.

What Abound does

Abound helps you gather written memories and photos from a group of people and have them printed and bound into a hardcover book, which we ship to you.

Books are printed by a third-party print partner. Each book is made to order for a specific person.

Your account

You need an account to create a book. You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for what happens under your account. You must be at least 18 to buy a book. You don't need an account to contribute to someone else's book.

Pricing and payment

Books are $75, which includes Standard shipping within the United States. The Heirloom Edition — a linen-wrapped hardcover with a foil-stamped spine and a printed dust jacket — is $90. Rush shipping is an optional $15.00 upgrade at checkout. Prices are in US dollars and are charged when you check out, before contributors are invited.

We may change our prices, but never for an order you've already paid for.

Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel for a full refund at any time before you press Approve & send to print.

Once you approve your book it goes into production immediately and cannot be changed, canceled or refunded. Because each book is personalized and made to order, we don't accept returns for change of mind after that point.

If your book arrives damaged, misprinted or defective, we'll reprint and reship it at no cost — see Shipping & Returns for the full detail, which forms part of these terms.

Your content, and contributors' content

You and your contributors keep ownership of everything you write and upload. It's yours.

You give us permission to use that material for the single purpose of producing, printing and delivering the book it was written for — including sharing the finished book file with our print partner. We don't use it for marketing, we don't publish it, and we don't share it with anyone else.

By submitting content you confirm that:

  • it's yours to submit, or you have permission to submit it
  • it isn't unlawful, harassing, hateful, or an infringement of someone else's rights
  • photos of other people are shared with their knowledge, so far as you reasonably can tell

The person who created a book can edit or exclude contributions before printing. Contributors can ask us to change or remove their own contribution at any time before the book is printed.

What we won't print

We may decline to print a book, and refund it, if its content is unlawful, appears intended to harass or defame someone, infringes copyright, or would expose our print partner to liability. This is rare and we'll always talk to you first.

Printing and physical variation

Books are printed on physical materials and bound by machine. Small variations in color, trim and binding are normal and aren't defects. The on-screen preview is an accurate representation of layout and content, but screen color will never match ink exactly.

Delivery estimates are estimates. We can't guarantee a delivery date, and we're not able to control carrier delays.

Availability

We aim to keep Abound running smoothly, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access, and we may change or discontinue features.

Limited warranty, disclaimer and limitation of liability

X.1 Limited Warranty

Abound warrants to the customer who purchased the book that the book will be free from material defects in materials and workmanship for sixty (60) days after the date of delivery. A "material defect" means binding failure, missing or misbound pages, a printing defect such as streaking or misregistration, or physical damage present at the time of delivery.

A material defect does not include:

  • (a) any content error, typographical error, omission, or formatting that appeared in the digital proof approved by the Organizer;
  • (b) photograph quality attributable to the resolution, exposure, focus, or color of the file as submitted;
  • (c) variation in color, paper texture, or finish within normal commercial printing tolerances, including variation between the on-screen proof and the printed book; or
  • (d) damage occurring after delivery, including damage from handling, moisture, or ordinary wear.

To make a claim, the customer must notify Abound in writing at support@aboundgifting.com within the warranty period and provide photographs of the defect. Abound may require return of the defective book at Abound's expense, or may waive return. If Abound confirms a material defect, Abound will, as the customer's sole and exclusive remedy, either (i) reprint and reship the book at no charge, or (ii) refund the purchase price, in each case as elected by Abound within a reasonable time after receiving a valid claim.

X.2 Disclaimer of Other Warranties

EXCEPT FOR THE LIMITED WARRANTY IN SECTION X.1, AND TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE BOOKS AND THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," AND ABOUND DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WHERE APPLICABLE LAW (INCLUDING THE MAGNUSON-MOSS WARRANTY ACT) DOES NOT PERMIT ABOUND TO DISCLAIM IMPLIED WARRANTIES, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY THAT CANNOT BE DISCLAIMED IS LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE SIXTY (60) DAY WARRANTY PERIOD SET OUT IN SECTION X.1, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.

Abound does not warrant that the services will be uninterrupted or error-free; that Contributors will submit responses; that any particular number of responses will be received; or that any book will arrive by a specific date. All delivery dates are estimates only and depend on third-party printing and shipping providers and on the timing of Contributor responses and proof approval.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of implied warranties, so some or all of the above exclusions or limitations may not apply to you. The limited warranty in Section X.1 gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights that vary by state.

X.3 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Abound's total cumulative liability arising out of or relating to these Terms, the services, or any book — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or otherwise — will not exceed the greater of (i) the total amount you paid Abound for the book giving rise to the claim, or (ii) one hundred fifty United States dollars ($150.00).

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Abound will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or loss of goodwill, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

You acknowledge that a book may commemorate an occasion with a fixed date, and that Abound is not liable for any damages arising from a book arriving after an intended occasion, including where delay results from Contributor response timing, the timing of proof approval, or a third-party printing or shipping provider.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, gross negligence, willful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law. If a court of competent jurisdiction holds that the exclusive remedy in Section X.1 has failed of its essential purpose, or that any limitation in this section is unenforceable, that limitation will apply to the maximum extent permitted by law rather than being void in its entirety. Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation or exclusion of certain damages, so some or all of the above may not apply to you.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Abound Gifting Co. and its officers, members, employees, and agents from and against third-party claims, demands, and proceedings, and the resulting damages, judgments, and settlements payable to the third party, in each case arising out of or relating to:

  • (a) content submitted by you, or by any Contributor you invited — including text and photographs — that infringes a copyright, trademark, right of publicity, or other intellectual property right of a third party;
  • (b) content described in clause (a) that is defamatory, invades the privacy of a third party, or otherwise violates the legal rights of a third party; or
  • (c) your breach of the content representations in these Terms, including your representation that you have the right to submit, and to authorize Abound to reproduce, all content included in the book.

Your obligations under this section do not include Abound's attorneys' fees or costs of defense, which Abound bears itself. Your total cumulative liability under this section will not exceed one thousand United States dollars ($1,000.00). This section does not apply to claims arising from Abound's own negligence, willful misconduct, or breach of these Terms, or from Abound's own content, branding, or design elements.

Abound will give you prompt written notice of any claim subject to this section; a delay in notice will not relieve you of your obligations except to the extent the delay materially prejudices you. Abound will reasonably cooperate in the resolution of the claim, and may participate with counsel of its own choosing at its own expense. You may not settle, and Abound will not settle for amounts it seeks to recover under this section, in a manner that imposes any obligation or admission on the other party without that party's prior written consent, not to be unreasonably withheld.

Disputes and governing law

If something goes wrong, please email us first. Almost everything is quicker to put right that way, and we would far rather fix a problem than argue about one.

Abound Gifting Co. is registered in Ohio. These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of Abound, are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

If a dispute cannot be resolved between us directly, it will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Ohio, and both you and Abound agree that those courts have jurisdiction.

Two things that paragraph deliberately does not do:

  • It does not force you into arbitration. We do not require arbitration, and there is no class-action waiver in these terms. If we ever decide to change that, we will say so plainly and give you a way to opt out rather than burying it in an update.
  • It does not override your own state's consumer protections. If you live somewhere whose consumer-protection laws give you rights that cannot be signed away by agreement, you keep those rights, and nothing here limits them.

Either of us may also bring a claim in small claims court rather than going to court properly — and if you are the one bringing it, you may do that where you live rather than traveling to Ohio.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make a significant change we'll update the effective date and email account holders. The terms that apply to your order are the ones in effect when you paid.
